In Klang, formerly known as Kelang, and the royal capital of the state of Selangor, Malaysia, a car thief named “Radiator Raja” has been arrested. Investigations have revealed that his own relatives had helped him dismantle vehicles before pushing the parts to car shops.

The thirty-six-year old man has been on the police wanted for the past 18 months. His relatives including his twenty-eight-year old wife, uncle and brother in law had helped him cannibalize a car in just an hour and dispose the chop parts off to workshops, car shops or spare parts outlets.
Because of the arrest of Radiator Raja, police would be able to solve 30 car theft cases, according to Klang OCPD Assistant Comm Mohamad Mat Yusof. Police believe that he stole 18 cars in Shah Alam and Klang from January to May this year.

ACP Mohamad believed that they have uncovered a “family thieves” and is happy that they have nabbed Radiator Raja, his wife and uncle. He is also looking for others in connection with the case.

According to a mechanic, Radiators was able to fashion metal strips into car keys according to their model and could steal a car within a minute, including disarming the alarm system.
On stealing a car he would hand it over to his uncle who would dismantle the engine while his brother-in-law would cut up the body to be sold to workshops.

Police are also trying to trace his brother-in-law and a workshop operator.

ACP Mohamad added that most of the time, Radiator Raja would steal car makes like Nissan Sunny 130Y, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry and Proton Wira.
