Boom Time for Mobile Broadband Industry

Mobile broadband providers have adopted various marketing strategies such as snazzy advertising, low prices, offering laptop bundles and other appealing free gifts to promote growth. These tactics appear to have worked, and the mobile broadband dongle seems to be selling like hot cake nowadays.

Statistics show an immense growth in mobile broadband. Mobile Today has reported that sales are continuously increasing and will soon reach 20,000 per week. The sales have increased, even during the current economic meltdown, to 58,000 in January this year as compared to only 27,000 in October 2008, according to a market research company Gfk. These numbers are indicative of the explosive growth that the industry is witnessing.

Mobile broadband has grabbed an even greater attention after the release of the Digital Britain report which invited discussion on the vision for the communications sector. The technology was introduced to ensure that people could stay connected while travelling and it has become indispensable for businessmen and students alike.

Mobile broadband has become more popular due to the lack of fixed line broadband services in several remote parts of the country. The introduction of improved electronic devices such as iPhones has also made the technology popular among the public, and the whole industry is now looking forward to this market to drive their future growth.
