Facts about Obesity Surgery

There are two main types of obesity surgery. The first is stomach banding or commonly called Lap-band surgery. The other is gastric bypass. Both of these surgeries produce the same results just in different time frames. There are requirements you must meet to have any obesity surgery.

Weight loss surgery is not for everyone. If you only need to lose 10-20 lbs you can count out this surgery. You must be at least one hundred pounds over weight to have weight loss surgery or a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 35 with co-morbidities or a BMI of 40 without co-morbidities. Co-morbidities are health related issues putting your life at risk due to obesity such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, and sleep apnea.

Stomach banding is a procedure in which a surgeon places a restrictive band around the stomach to reduce the amount of food a patient can consume at one time. This procedure produces a slower weight loss than gastric bypass. Generally stomach banding weight loss takes place over a period of three years and the band has to be readjusted periodically to produce positive results. This is a less invasive form of weight loss surgery.

Gastric bypass is the more invasive form of weight loss surgery. There are several types of gastric bypass the most common form of the surgery performed today is Roux-en-Y procedure. This surgery entails a surgeon stapling off the upper part of the stomach about the size of your thumb from the remainder of the stomach. They will then re-route the small intestine about 12 to 18 inches below the stomach to this newly formed pouch. This surgery produces a fast weight loss with the majority of weight lost in the first 12 months. This surgery produces faster results due to the decreased absorption rate and small stomach size.

Obesity surgery is a great option for those who are morbidity obese. These surgeries produce life changing results. The surgeries can help reduce and even eliminate the need for medications for life threatening diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure.

Photography Insurance-Insurance for the Photographer

Part and parcel of establishing your own photographic business is establishing your own legal entity. This means establishing yourself for taxes. This is broader than the scope of this article, because every country has it’s own business rules. Also every state in federal countries has different legal rules. The first thing you need to do is register your business according to your local rules, if you are unsure of this either take legal advice or go and see your local town hall and ask them about local legal requirements.

You then need to separate your private finances from your business finances. Even if you pay your bills with a credit card you should have a separate business card.

Once you have set up your business, then you have to ensure that that business is protected, and one of the ways you can do this is to insure yourself against risks to your business. Whilst you should be able to insure an overall business policy for your business you need to make sure that all the liabilities you face both fiscally and legally are covered. We live in a litigative society, and whilst insurance may seem an expense you can do without, it gives you peace of mind. You need to consider insurance for your errors, omissions and liabilities, as well as ensuring your equipment for loss or damage. You also need an insurance against a claim made as a result of an accident, occurring whilst you are conducting a photographic session.

All sorts of simple errors and omissions can occur between taking the photographs and giving the finished image to the customer. Film can get lost either through your fault or the processor’s. Images may be lost whilst shipping, or in the postal system. Images may also be lost by private carriers, paying a premium price for services may not be sufficient, do you know whether or not you are covered by their insurance, and if you are what is the limit? Whilst it is possible for images to be lost in Cyberspace you should be able to cover those eventualities yourself, by having back up systems. You may release the images to the incorrect party. As well as this there may be a human delay and you may find yourself in the wrong venue, with no time to correct this.

There are other errors that you can be held responsible for this; your customers may sustain a personal injury whilst they are in your home or studio. It is advisable to protect yourself with liability insurance. If someone trips or falls over a piece of equipment, you can be held responsible for the damage. One of your customers may even trip and sustain and injury outside your house on the steps, but if they are coming to your house for business purposes, the business is often deemed to be liable.

Depending on what type of work you are doing you may need an insurance policy for your models. Supposing you take a model to photograph to an outside location and she or he is struck by lightning, or a stray horse, etc? You will also have to ensure that all your equipment is also covered whilst you are on location, as well as inside your normal working area. If you work internationally on location, it is very important to ensure that everything is covered on an international basis.

When you protect your equipment make sure that remember to insure all of it. This does not include just your camera, lenses, and other obvious pieces, but your computer, fax machine, as well as all your software. If you use all your own dark room, then there is that equipment to insure as well. Even if you are using your house, your office equipment will not be included on a normal domestic policy.

As well as all these things you need to have a type of health insurance that covers you if you are sick, or cannot make an assignment. Also what happens when your car breaks down, and you miss a wedding? All sorts of events can and do occur.

It is also normal for any individuals to cover themselves for loss of income. You need to have an insurance policy for this, not just for your health expenses, but to ensure that over basic bills such as mortgages or repayments are covered.

If you have employees, then the business of insurance becomes more complicated, you need to ensure against their actions against your customer’s as well. Supposing they get caught up in a claim for sexual harassment, then you yourself are responsible. Each added little extra thing which you ensure yourself against will probably only add a few extra dollars to your annual bill, and the dollars spent may save a lot of heartache
later.

You can ask to extend your private insurance to include a business package, or there are several companies that ensure the professional photographer’s needs with a separate package of comprehensive insurance. It may also be necessary to extend your vehicle insurance for the transportation of equipment, or it may be cheaper to include such things as loss of equipment from an unattended vehicle on your business package. It is not advisable to assume that you are covered for liabilities on existing insurance policies; it is always safer to check.

Computer Insurance

Investing in a personal computer is not less an amount. It is next only to investing in a house or a car. So, it’s not unwise an idea to insure your computer and its allied accessories like peripherals and software. However, how much coverage you get for what accessory depends on individual market offer. There are several threats your computer might face. Such as virus attack, data corruption, system crashing down, peripheral malfunctioning and many more. Thus, it is important for you to protect your investment by proper insurance coverage. There are certain aspects of computer insurance you must know.

Coverage under homeowner or renter’s policy

In most of the cases if you have homeowner or renter’s policy your home accessories and assets are also covered in that and so is your computer. It is covered against all the threats and disasters listed in the policy. Thus, if your computer gets stolen or gutted in fire you can claim for the damages. However, your computer gets covered only for the amount listed in your policy.

Replacement cost and actual cash value

Though replacement cost is 10 percent more expensive as compared to Actual cash value, keeping in mind that things depreciate fast, this is a very wise move. The reimbursement you get on replacement cost is the same as the current cost of your computer and not the petty depreciated cost you would get with actual cash value policy.

Coverage for Laptop and portable computer

Laptop and portable computers are considered personal possessions away from home under the homeowners or renter’s policy. Thus, they are also covered under this policy. However, there is a dollar limit on personal possession that are stolen or damaged away from home.

Computers don’t only get covered under the homeowners or renter’s policy. A number of insurance companies offer individual insurance policies for computers as well. It is important to remember that when you buy a computer insurance policy you must retain the receipt of the policy as well as that of the computer and its peripherals very carefully.

Computer insurance is vital for students, business professionals, small business owners, schools, home users with heavy usage and many more people who use computers for their critical applications. Computer insurance does not cover certain items such as maintenance costs, electrical or mechanical breakdown, wear and tear, fraud and dishonesty, consequential loss, and loss or damage caused by sonic bangs. However, they are well covered under the warranty/extended warranty of the equipment.

6. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES- This is my favorite, I live up in the mountains and we have a lot of these type of adventures available close by. Folks on vacation sure like photos of themselves while participating in activities. If you have activities like these in your area, talk with a local outfitter, they are usually very receptive to the idea of photo souvenirs, because it promotes their service long after the adventure is over.
a) Whitewater River Rafting

8. FAMILY PORTRAITS- Many families have a portrait done annually. I like to photograph the family during fun time, rather than a studio. I like to have a good time with them. c) On location
d) Holiday Cards in October

a) Graduation
b) School Plays
c) Dances
d) Marching Band
e) Homecoming

10. STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY AGENCYS- there are many agencies that will purchase quality images to package and resell. Check stock photo agencies many of them accept freelance work.

Here’s how it goes. Take the photo, give the client a card with your photo gallery web site address on it. Up load the pictures to your gallery. They go to your website and pick out the ones they want and order prints or coffee mugs, whatever they want. Then the photos are printed and shipped by the company that hosts your gallery. Then the company sends you a check. How much you make on each image is up to you. The Photo gallery hosting company charges you say, $1.99 for an 8″x 10″ print. You set your retail prices at 24.99 for the print. You just made $23.00. The magic happens when you use the intrinsic artistic value, to increase the value of an otherwise inexpensive piece of paper. Most retailers wish they had a markup this good!

Once you get going, you will be lining up jobs at all sorts of events. Even taking photos while traveling and writing off your business expenses. If you really love photography you should consider your own gallery online.

When I got my gallery, I had so much fun thinking of creative titles for the galleries and getting all my pictures set up and organized. For instance, I have one gallery that is a tribute to trees. Everytime I see a beautiful tree, I capture a picture and display it in a gallery that I named Treebute.

RV Camper Insurance: Added Security and Peace of Mind

Have you ever thought about getting RV camper insurance? You probably already have automobile insurance on the truck that carries your RV camper. Isn’t that enough insurance? The truth is that many automobile insurance policies will not fully cover your camper like RV camper insurance will. RV camper insurance is a specialized product designed to protect you and your RV from unnecessary costs in the event of accidental damage. This may sound like it is pricey, but there are inexpensive options for RV camper insurance available and if you ever need it, it will end up saving you money and heartache.

How do you use your RV camper? Is it your idea of “roughing it” when you go out hunting with the guys? Or is it a nice little luxury when you decide to head up to the lake for the weekend? RV camper insurance can help you to continue having those times out enjoying your family and friends without the worry of “what if.” Regular automobile insurance generally will only cover the automobile part of your car.

Where can you get RV camper insurance? You can go to your regular insurance provider, but they will not have a big variety of options for RV camper insurance and they may not have specific RV coverage. But, if you go online you can find a wealth of information about RV camper insurance along with nearly every RV insurance provider. The internet makes it extremely easy to check out a number of different providers fairly quickly, so that you can make an informed decision. Most sites will give you a free quote, and on some of the better sites you can get a quote within minutes. Be sure that you put the same amount of coverage and deductibles for your RV camper insurance on each company’s site so that you can get an accurate picture of what is available.

Once you have a quote you can make a decision. Don’t just go for the least expensive kind. Make sure that they offer things like total coverage. A few of the insurance companies offer a total replacement with a brand new RV if you total the camper in the first five years if you are the original owner. If you buy your RV used or your RV is already more than 5 years old, you can still make a claim on your RV insurance which will give you the amount that you paid for it.

A truck camper is an appealing way for many people to get into the RVing lifestyle without the big expense. This may be what attracted you to a truck camper in the first place. But, now you really should protect that investment. An insurance policy for your RV camper should not be too expensive and it will be well worth it when you head out onto the road, or off into the wilderness because you will have the peace of mind that you are protected. Don’t neglect your RV-protect it.

Auto Insurance Savings: Tips for Lowering Your Premium

It’s not exactly cheap to drive and maintain a car these days. As gas prices waver up and down and salaries fail to keep pace with inflation, it seems we’re all looking for ways to cut costs.

For those of us who drive, auto insurance is a necessary requirement enforced by law. Though we hate paying what we sometimes feel are outrageous premiums, the financial protection we gain from those policies is a trade-off we just can’t live without.

Just ask anyone who’s been involved in an accident lately.

But there is good news. As this mobile society struggles to keep up with increasing costs, auto insurance premiums have finally begun a downward trend.

According to one reliable source, the average auto insurance premium fell almost 2 percent last year, to an average of just over $2,300 per household.

That may not sound like much, but it translates to an average savings of $60 a year.

If you weren’t one of the lucky ones who got a pleasant surprise when your auto insurance policy renewed this year, don’t despair. You can still save money on your premium by following a few simple steps:

  1. Comparison Shop. If you have a good driving record and/or buy a safer car, your premium should go down. Plus, with some companies now charging lower rates, increased competition means better auto insurance rates for you! Take advantage of online marketing services like InsureMe.com to find the best
auto insurance rates from competing insurers.
  2. Find out what your insurance will cost before you buy that new car. Auto insurance companies typically charge more for cars that are expensive to repair or don’t fare well in accidents. So before you drive off that lot, make sure your new car is considered safe, and relatively cheap and easy to repair
by your insurer. This will help minimize risk…for both of you!
  3. Ask your insurer for discounts. These cost-savers can lower your insurance premiums more than you might think:
    • Combining two or more cars on one auto insurance policy
    • Buying a car with airbags or other safety equipment
    • Installing anti-theft devices in your vehicle
    • Completing a driver’s education course
    • Insuring your home and auto with the same insurer
    • Applying for a mature driver discount (for those between 50 and 65)
    • Getting good grades (for students under 25)

  4. Take the highest deductible you can afford. Your deductible is the amount you pay out-of-pocket, in case of a claim, before your insurance company starts paying its share. The higher your deductible, the lower your premiumit’s as simple as that. Just be sure you’re able to absorb a larger portion of your loss in case of an accident.
  5. Improve your driving record. The more tickets and accidents you have, the more your auto insurance costs. So drive cautiously, improve your motor vehicle record, and inform your auto insurance company of the change. They’ll reclassify you as a safer driver, and lower your auto insurance rates in the process!
  6. Consider dropping comprehensive and/or collision coverage if you drive an older car. Physical damage coverages like these reimburse you for damages to your own car. But if the vehicle you drive is several years oldor worth less than $1,000it may not be worth much anyway. Dropping such unnecessary coverage can really save you money.
  7. Review your policy regularly, and keep your coverage updated. Your auto insurance rates may fluctuate due to:
    • Adding or removing a driver from your auto insurance policy
    • Replacing an older vehicle with a newer one
    • Adding or removing a vehicle from your policy
    • Increasing or decreasing the number of miles you drive annually

Talk to your insurer if you encounter any of these situations. Under the right circumstances, you’ll reduce the impact on your walletand walk away a few dollars richer!

If you’re looking for ways to counter prices at the pumpsand everywhere else, for that mattertake these tips to heart.

Entertaining Marketing

We all love to be entertained. Just look at how packed the shows are in Las Vegas, and then next Friday night go to the movies and see how many people are in line for the newest action movie. The truth is that life can get boring for a lot of us. It can become a routine of things, like work and sleep. Time can just seem to go by, so to keep the mind occupied and going we want to be entertained. Marketing at one time used to be just about the product and how it can make your life better.

If you have been watching the television and the commercials you will notice that for the most part they are very entertaining. Sometimes the commercials can be more entertaining then the show being watched. The Super Bowl is a great sports event to watch, but now it seems that since the marketing has become so entertaining that the commercials in between the game are becoming just as popular as the game itself. These commercials really catch our attention and spike up a lot of emotion in our minds. Sometimes you might even watch a commercial and not know who is promoting what, but it brought about a lot of thought and made you laugh, and at the end of the commercial you will see who made it. Make sure to not watch too much television and the commercials included, get some exercise in and take your Acceletrim solution. Even though these things are very entertaining, make sure to get your workouts in.

Different Car Insurance

There are different types of insurance coverage available, thus the best question to ask when applying for insurance, is which policy is available to me. In the beginning of the 19th century laws were passed stating that anyone driver a motor vehicle is by law obligated to have a measure of coverage. The drive can take out full coverage, or else ‘third-party” coverage, which will protect them in the event an accident occurs. The policy will keep you out of the arms of the law even if you are pulled over for a traffic violation, by protecting you from getting citations, fines, jail, or towed vehicle for no proof.

Third party will offer a measure of protection, however it will not protect you entirely if an accident occurs, and most likely will not cover you if your car is stolen. If you possess a “High-Performance” or “Classic” vehicle, then you will need supplementary coverage, outside of third-party coverage. In fact, you will need full coverage, plus the supplementary coverage to protect your vehicle. The coverage offered to these customers is to protect them extensively, since the risks are higher and the cost of repairs on such vehicles is twice more expensive than standard vehicles.

If you only take out third-party insurance on a high dollar vehicle, then you will pay the cost of repair and suffer losses in the event you are in an accident, unless the other driver is at fault. However, if that driver is at fault, still you may pay the cost that is not covered under the other drivers insurance if he too has third-party coverage. The third-party coverage will cover drivers on “public roads,’ or private roads.’ The policy may offer limited coverage for ‘legal liabilities’ and ‘passenger indemnity.” The passenger indemnity means that if you are driving and your passenger hit’s a parked vehicle with the passenger door then you will be covered. The coverage may offer protection against fire and theft also, which will provide you a measure of coverage in the event your car is stolen or fire occurs.

However, you must read the terms and agreements carefully, since some third-party coverage is minimal and will not offer this protection. On the other hand, comprehensive full coverage will defend you on nearly every possible occurrence. Comprehensive full insurance coverage “is the complete form of car insurance” that “adds accidental damage” coverage “to the 3 policies discussed.”

The comprehensive coverage can protect you, despite the level of damage, and will cover you on many ‘personal accidents’ in the event you are injured. Third-party coverage was not planned to provide the coverage that the comprehensive policies bring. Third Party Only is a liability policy that will prevent you from charge if you cause an accident. The Policy will provide a measure of assurance that if you are in an industrial accident “the innocent party’s repair/replacement costs are insured against.”

Thus, insurance coverage is different and most companies base the pricing on age, driving history, gender, type of car, and so forth. Regardless of the type of insurance you are seeking, all policies have premiums. The companies will often ask customers to provide an estimated guess as to how many miles you drive each year and this too will affect your premiums. Most companies estimate that drivers should only drive around 12,000 miles per year, but it depends on the company.

Furthermore, under law you are responsible for your vehicle, therefore, if you are seeking insurance coverage and intend to allow other drivers to drive the car, make sure you get coverage for other drivers, otherwise if the driver causes an accident, by law you will pay for the damage, loss, death, and any other problem the accident caused.
